Monday: Barney
Today was very much a catch-up day - unpacking, lots of washing, taking the tree down etc. It was nice not to have to rush back to work today but it's definitely back to reality tomorrow. This is probably my favourite time of year to take leave - it's the one time when you don't have to stress about everything stacking up while you're away.

I mentioned the other day that I had a good book recommendation for you. Last night, I finished 'Night at Camp David', by Fletcher Knebel. The front cover says 'what would happen if the President of the United States went stark raving mad?' - it's a thriller about a President with a paranoia complex and frightening ambitions for the US.
The interesting thing is that it was written in 1965, had some success but was then out of print. Having been referenced recently by people and publications like Rachel Maddow, Bob Woodward and the New York Times, who said it was a 'bit too plausible for comfort', it has now been reissued by popular demand. Apart from the obvious parallels I found it a good pacy read.
