Female Hazel flower ......
.....2019 version!
Last autumn I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a Canon MT-26EX-RT macro twin light flash. Since then I haven't really had a opportunity to use it very much, but with spring just round the corner I think the time has come to take the plunge!
This is the female Hazel flower, the part which will go on to become the hazel nut. the red tentacles are sticky and catch the pollen grains from the showy male catkin flowers as they are released in the breeze.
If you look closely you can see the pollen grains.
I think this is going to be a good adventure!
