Dying from the ground up
Grey, cold and brittle
A visit to Shipley to do a favour for a friend. Nearly ruined by CRAZY traffic on the A650 at 7am! Fortunately, the engineer was late arriving from Leeds so alls well.
I took the opportunity to take the dog a walk in unknown territory. So unknown that a local walking three terriers was surprised;
"We never meet anybody in these woods"
When we emerged from the wood back to the road there were scores of people walking dogs, just not in her wood!
The engineer arrived the technology was fixed.
The bustle on the hill, was a remarkable counterpoint to the hush in the wood, especially in the hollow where I found this tree, dead and encircled by it's frilly fungal coat, busy returning it to the biosphere.
