Solitude

The Solitude ski area lived up to its name...what a day. This is the view across to Brighton ski field. I sat here in the warm sunshine, just enjoying the peace and quiet of the mountains, completely alone.
Actually, in truth I was also recovering from an exhausting powder run down Honeycomb Canyon which opened at mid day after avalanche "bombing" all morning. The snow was rather too heavy after the recent warm temperatures to be really enjoyable. But a great day on the main slopes, very few people - many solo rides of the chairlift.
