Pétanque

I had my first game of pétanque today and loved it. So I expect I will become a member of the U3A Wednesday morning Pétanque Group.

My right wrist has virtually no movement at all. My rheumatologist said to simply leave it alone because it would never give me pain and indeed immobilizing joints is often the treatment for rheumatoid arthritis. It doesn’t affect much of my life but most ball/racquet sports are not possible. However it seemed fine for pétanque.

I’m not yet ready for a professional set of balls but a pétanque magnet might just find its way into my amazon basket soon. The ground is a long way from my hands!
