Salford Quays

A rather fine day exploring Manchester. After breakfast I walked the less than salubrious Salford Trail alongside the Manchester Ship Canal to Salford Quays. Some renovation but still lots of land to be regenerated. On the section I walked there was much graffiti in evidence, in some sections no surface was left untagged.

Enjoyed wandering around Salford Quays poking into Media City and calling in at the Imperial War Museum to see their special exhibition on the Great War.

Caught the excellent tram back to St Peter’s Square to meet my brother for lunch. We chewed the cud and quite a bit of food at an all you can eat buffet on Portland Street.

He’s retired, but still working what seems to be full time as a self employed consultant. Having to work to see his kids through full time education.

Regretfully, he had to return to the grindstone mid afternoon which was a shame as this was the first time we’d met up in nearly 18 months. I carried on my perambulations around Manchester Centre, calling in at a couple of music shops, the Rylands Library and the City Library enroute for Piccadilly and the journey home.

Today’s blip is of Salford Quays. It’s a Wide Wednesday submission and looks even more interesting turned through 90 degrees. Thanks for hosting to Freyjad for hosting. I think it fits the bill for today’s challenge.
