Chia Pet Peeve

Salvia hispanica of the mint family,
native to Mexico and Guatemala.

Full of antioxidants. Heavily used by the Aztecs. Curiously planted in clay figures so Americans can buy 50,000 chia pets every year. But only available around the holidays (for some unknown reason).

I “saw the quality” when the bag spilled on the kitchen floor. And so began another Wild Wednesday.

All my other outdoor photos were barely visible due to gray skies and snow. So...now you know where chia pets come from. I wonder if there’s a chia pet cemetery....
