Hope

20+ years ago I planted a packet of nasturtium seeds. Every year since, they've self-seeded; taking over the garden and attracting bees until the first frosts. So far this winter it's been mild and I found this solitary flower amongst the rather tattered leaves - a memory of summer and promise of the coming spring.
