Carpentry Hotz

I felt ill the last two days with a very defiant tummy. So I only had a short walk with Omo (he is limping since days) to the bakery.
On our way home, we passed the carpentry Hotz and I blipped it for Wide Wednesday with the theme   Buildings & Architecture.

This building is only 25 years old, but made in the traditional way.
When Bärbel Hotz decided to take over the parental business, she had to face a lot of difficulties. Carpentery is still a men occupation.
She had to be good, very good to earn the respect of the other carpenters.
Her company received the "Federal Award for craft in the preservation of monuments 1996 and 2006". This highly respected prize was awarded twice in Hessen and in both cases it could be handed over to the Hessian master carpenter Bärbel Hotz by demonstrating extraordinary quality work.
Now she truely has the respect of her collegues!
