High Contrast
Derelict Sunday: High Contrast
It is not Sunday of course, notwithstanding the beautiful and stately spire of St Mary Redcliffe in the background. Instead, here is one of the last bits of Bristol's Floating Harbour in need of regeneration. This area has been an eyesore for quite a while now and no doubt someone will be along to put some new buildings on it at some stage, but just not at present.
I was tempted to serve this up in mono, but the colour was such a key part of the shot that I couldn't resist leaving it as it is.
Nice to see the Derelict challenge still rumbling on, albeit in a small way. Its been a while since I have remembered to take part, and taking this shot reminded me of just how much I have tended to enjoy this particular challenge. Needless to say, it is also a good way to remember and celebrate the avid lensman who first came up with the idea.
