High street....low day!!

I am so disappointed and fed up!

Today my consultant's secretary phoned me to cancel my operation!!!!!!

Last time it was cancelled because I had a virus....this time other people have a virus.

Raigmore Hospital has an out break of Norovirus and they have closed the wards to elective orthopoedic ops!

I don't know what to think or what to say. After waiting a month and a half from the last date I have to wait yet another month.....new date 10th January.....no new knee for Christmas!

Not even doing a countdown this time....GUTTED!!

Oh and as an aside this is Fort William Hight Street....lots of Christmas shopping going on and a great buzz about it....NOT!! It's like me....depressed amd dreich! Note the empty Stead and Simpson store. That sums up our High street. There are now very few shops which sell anything the local consumer wants to buy and loads of the shops are closing or empty. The last "old time" shop...the Rod and Gun.... is closing.It's so sad and worrying. If you want outdoor gear or jumpers it's fine but anything else it's Inverness...why??? We need to revive our towns. There should be greengrocers and bakers and butchers (there is still a remaining good butcher) etc. We should be able to buy hardware and clothes. It should be a place to meet friends and to meet our needs but sadly it isn't!
