Beachcomber

George Mackay Brown's poem Beachcomber is engraved in steel panels on one of the buildings to the west of Rose Street in Edinburgh. It's very striking and it is part of a celebration of the work of the 'Rose Street Poets' - Mackay Brown, MacCaig, MacDiarmid etc. I've passed it many times and seen it blipped by others.

Friday I didn't hold a seaman's skull but I did have a really lovely lunch with some former colleagues at La P'tite Folie in the west end. Good food, good chat, good fun. Heading home now and looking forward to the weekend.
