Skyline with trees
Arthur’s Seat and Salisbury Crags form an almost cut-out backdrop to the forest of cranes currently sprouting from central Edinburgh and, closer, the mature, bare trees of Edinburgh Botanical Gardens today. Another lovely day - not weather, as it was mostly pale grey, but in terms of totally-unearned-little-holiday activity. A leisurely morning, a walk through the gardens, a bite to eat in the cafe ... and then later meeting the girls from school followed by a birthday celebration dinner (yes, another one) cooked by the fair hand of #2 son.
Normal life beckons, and we’ll need to go home. But I’ve had such a lovely time here that I’d as soon stay put ...
