the flower of a banana tree

So interesting! I never saw this until we moved to Florida . . . and that will be 10 years this December, amazing. This is growing in our backyard, along the river. I will add a photo of the bunch of bananas it is attached to! 

Yes, I do eat them when they ripen up!
