The castle at night

The last event I took part in at Edinburgh Castle was in June but this week I have spoken at two in three days.

Tonight's was a reception for the Saltire, Fulbright & Commonwealth scholars at Scottish Universities. This is held annually and is always an interesting and inspiring occasion.

I arrived in rain but when I left it was drying up and the Edinburgh street lights were reflecting off the scattered cloud.

To the left of this picture is part of the Scottish National War Memorial : to the right is St Margaret's chapel.
