There are a lot more beach blips this time of year as I spend a lot of hours each day playing beach volleyball on Playa La Ropa. José Luis, pictured here, has been a fixture on the beach since we arrived nine years ago. He and his wife used to run an umbrella concession next to the volleyball court, but the new administration has required all vendors to be relicensed and they are still waiting for their papers to be approved. In the meantime, he has been helping with a licensed parachute vendor which is where I captured this photo of him today between games.
