Vinyl Heaven
It was the last Vinyl Repro of the year and it was fabulous. I had so much fun. As usual, we hired out the top room of the Canal Bar, complete with glitter ball, and the DJs lined up to do their thing. Simon was on first with a 70s lounge set, followed by Catherine (in this blip) with her Now 1994 and various 80s tunes. Mike played a fine selection of Chaka Khan, Jackson 5 and disco hits, and a couple of guys from a publishing house down the road played two great sets, one including some early Peter Green. It was Madness's Baggy Trousers that really got Catherine, Karin and I haring around the dance floor, and we didn't stop dancing until the bar closed.
En route home, Simon and I sang Paul Simon songs all the way to King's Cross, then we shut up because we didn't wish to offend the other folk on the tube. What a fantastic evening!
