West Lodge (1887)
Morning blipsters :) somewhat damp today , not that my springer is bothered by weather (see other pic). We went for a walk down the path of an old railway line that once ran from Lancaster to glasson dock. The line is long since gone but the walk is wonderful. You pass through wetlands on the banks of the river lune. At this time of year it is home to large numbers of geese :) eventually you come to a road which leads you to aldcliffe, just south west of Lancaster. There use to be a medieval hall here but it was knocked down and replaced with something hideous by all accounts. Thankfully it didn't survive but its two lodges did. The east lodge is grade ii listed (I will post a pic at some point) but is uninhabited, the west lodge however, this one, is quite beautiful. Once again these were taken with my pocket Olympus stylus 1s. I hope you all have a great Sunday :)
