Today's the day ………………… when the goldfinches landed

The goldfinches appeared out of nowhere today - having apparently managed to sniff out our new 'niger seed' feeder.  How would they do that?  Do goldfinches sniff? 

It's a complete mystery to me how they have managed it - but it's lovely to see them and they are a very welcome addition to the garden bird feeding station …………………….
