Marmalade day 2019

Walked Murray early.  Fellow dog walker surmised I'd plans today to be out early. Needs must. Marmalade-making is lengthy.  Halving, squeezing, scooping, saving pith, slicing orange 'shells',  adding sugar and boiling to a set takes a few hours.

Love the smell of oranges. My large French copper preserving pan coupled with the orange rind and liquid adds a warm glow to the kitchen and indeed the dull day.  18 and a half jars later, I'm pleased with this year's batch. Will label tomorrow.

A friend has temporarily passed a Japanese family - 2 boys: 11 and 13 and parents -  to me for paid English tutoring until March. 
Tutoring went well with just the boys. Parents and boys next week for 2 hours!
