Petrol station present

I had a bit of an unexpected surprise this morning - I was halfway through paying for my petrol at the local M&S petrol station, when the woman serving me said "Hang on a minute", and then rushed out the back, coming back with this bunch of flowers. "Here", she said, "you may as well have these. They're out of date but there's still a bit of life left in them." I was rather taken aback, but accepted them graciously and took them away with me. I'm not sure there is much life left in them, to be honest, (I've added the tulips), but it was a very nice thought all the same!
