Apple hoover

We have a very prolific crab apple tree in the garden, and I used to try to keep the lawn tidy by raking up the apples that fell during the autumn, but I never bother now, with the wood pigeons and blackbirds eating them through the winter. One day this week we had 8 blackbirds and 3 pigeons all at the same time. Molly and Rosie love to watch out the back window, and sometimes get up the nerve to chase the birds (occasionally catching one, unfortunately). 

This wood pigeon is really putting it away for the winter!
