Open lens surgery

I found a quiet half an hour this afternoon to attempt the modification to the lens so took the opportunity to snap it whilst it was opened up.

My first impression is that it was a complete failure as the test image I took was all kinds of out of focus but I need to rest my eyes so I'll try again when I'm feeling better...
