Red Bay
Back blip - but only by about seven months!
An early start as we had another ferry to catch - this time to take us back off the island of Newfoundland and back to mainland Canada, the Labrador part of Newfoundland and Labrador to be precise.
Leaving our overnight stop at Port au Choix, we made our way north to St Barbe and the ferry over to Blanc Sablon (which is actually in Quebec). From there we drove to Red Bay National Historic Site (pictured), where whalers from the Basque regions of France and Spain set up a port in the mid-16th century.
Having spent the afternoon visiting this fascinating place, we travelled back to L'Anse au Clair for an overnight stop, astonished to find small icebergs in the bay (see extra). Mid-June in Labrador!
