Industrial Graveyard

Kirkstall and Armley ( two districts in Leeds) were dirty, noisy and smelly working class areas in my childhood.
Suspect they were in far worse condition in the preceding 100 years.
Both places have undergone some gentrification since the demise of the diverse manufacturing hub that the city once was.
Much machinery has been shipped to destinations worldwide where much is still in use.
Now the old industries that produced steam engines, printing and tailoring ( to name but a few) are gone and we now have museums to show us our heritage.
One such museum is at Armley Mills which backs on to an entertainment complex in neighbouring Kirkstall.
As we were in the complex to see Stan and Ollie at the cinema this afternoon we could cross the footbridge beforehand to see the graveyard of machinery that didn’t even get into the museum.
What a find for the Derelict Sunday challenge :-)
Incidentally l would highly recommend the film.
