More mundane fare

Jeepman managed to get last two shelving units in Makro's sale for a friend. Then pudding, chips, mushy peas & gravy for lunch. On way home M6 north & toll road at a standstill because of accident & that was before the weekend rush

Tonight more Christmas food at SAHS whilst listening to Bob Bibby on Staffordshire Cakes and Ale Trail. This is an intriguing seven-section ramble from the home of brewing Burton-upon-Trent, along the Trent & Mersey Canal to Dr Johnson's Lichfield, before crossing Cannock Chase to reach the ancient town of Penkridge. A pleasant cross-country route leads through Gnosall to Eccleshall, once the seat of Bishops, and then goes via Wedgwood's Barlaston to the bustling canal town of Stone. North to Cheadle and "Pugin's gem", then into the hills of Staffordshire Moorlands past Alton to the horse-racing mecca of Uttoxeter. Finally south through Tutbury, with its Norman castle that once housed Mary Queen of Scots, to return to Burton-upon-Trent.
