Gate to nowhere .
I first spotted this gate, or rather the stone posts of a long gone gate, on our walk yesterday. We passed it again today at the end of our walk when leaving St Ives Woods. You often see these marvellous Yorkshire stone posts in the middle of woods without fencing or walls either side and wonder why they were ever placed there.
The one I saw earlier in the walk, as we came out of Cottingley Woods, is at least attached to a wall even if the gate is missing making the stile alongside rather superfluous!
It’s these little gems that make out local walks rather special even on a damp morning.
Pilates this afternoon, getting back into the swing.
Now a couple of drinks with friends to round off Wednesday.
