Evraiki

After yesterday's rain today a gorgeous sunny cold Winterday here with little wind. Got this morning up the hill Droulos in the old town of Chania. Droulos is a hill made from the sands that were excavated from the old canal around the city, centuries ago that happened.
With my ex we'd once discovered there an old iron canon bullet, from fights in earlier centuries. Entry to that hill Droulos was closed since some years, when heavy rains had caused a little landslide/hillslide unto its encircling roads. Now I found that the fence was opened... no idea whether youngsters did this, or some others, but I went up to enjoy the view from there again, like in earlier years. Got several pix from its view and add here this one from the Jewish quarter named Evraiki, and what is now part of Chania's touristical site. Shops there are closed now, almost all are. I do like this photo coz it shows the sea as well and the various shades of blue it had today.

IN the afternoon I took off for another walk and due to requests from Kostas'  daughter I walked up to the hospital where I found him again in bed and in lesser condition than last week. He had his nephew with him for company and nursing, like almost all diseased have here... His nephew administered him his medication; " that's normal for Greek nursing"  he told me... I know these stories from the past, but do wonder if nurses really don't administer here medication, or the family wants to do this themselves.
Kostas' daughter will try to come down here in coming days to see her papa one more time ~ I hope she manages to see and speak him in time.
In the extra a photo from sunset, when leaving the hospital again, the colors in the sky were gorgeous.
