2019 is Rikers Beard

So far 2019 is pretty ace.
I would def say 2019 is the Rikers Beard of my life.

From urban dictionary.com

Riker's Beard
Euphemism for a moment in time (typically in pop culture) where something or someone that was lackluster and/or underachieving suddenly and surprisingly became much better and exciting. Taken from Star Trek - The Next Generation, which many fans considered wanting until Commander Riker grew a beard at the start of Season Two, after which the show was solid and well-received for the rest of its run.

Now, i'm not saying that my life prior to 2019 was lackluster, and I appreciate we are only 16 days into the year, but so far it's pretty awesome. Myself and Mrs G have been doing fun stuff at the weekends, we've gotten into ice hockey
I've restarted my couch to 5K and it's going well.

I built a batmobile!

What else do you want out of life?

2019 is also very Rikers Beard for me as i have grown an actual beard. This year i am doing Beards For Bairns. you don't shave from Christmas day until Burns night. And get people to sponsor you, it's not just a beard growing competition for fun.

However, i am seriously considering not shaving it off. If 2019 is my Rikers Beard, what will happen when i shave? Will my life be like Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1? I don't know if i could handle that? Let's see how we go for the next 9 days. If 2019 is still as awesome then i'm keeping the bead. it's the only logical thing to do, the beard must somehow be making life better! So it's staying. No matter how itchy my face is! Or until i have a bad day.

Fun fact: I bought this action figure from ebay especially to take this pic. £4.50, and free postage. What a bargain.

However i have spent the past 2 hours thinking of other potential pictures i could use him in. So far all i have is a potential trip to Rikers Island?

Although i'm not too sure where that is.

At time of writing i've just realized that i'm only at 7500 steps, and i have to get 10K a day. Time to go for a walk round the block, (a few times)
