...Touchdown!
It is a rainy, chilly day which is crummy for getting out, but excellent for taking pictures from inside! Rain seems to bring all the birds out in large numbers so the Bistro has been hopping today.
I had to break the news to Sylvia that her picture yesterday made her nose look big, her butt look large and her chin look freaky. She was mortified, and tried to hide behind the peanut feeder all morning ... until Dudley came around started showing off his Olympic Gymnastic moves. I had to go out and give them both a stern talking to. (Yea, that's my story, and I'm sticking with it...)
Mrs. Hairy Woodpecker struck an intimidating pose next to one of the house finches which resulted in a flurry of feathers.
The house finches were determined to show everyone their impressive flight maneuvers, including this one called The Bullet!. Yes, lots of crazy stuff going on at the Bistro today. My blip pick today was one that I especially like. Anyone who routinely photographs birds and flying insects knows that getting them in flight with any degree of sharp focus is really, really hard. In my case, it is usually the result of many, MANY crappy shots first. And a bit of luck. Hey, I'm not ashamed to take a little luck!
Thank you all very much for coming along on my Holiday Madness ride this month. I have purchased a few more "props" and a new 50 Cent replacement stocking for the one the squirrels ate, so expect a continuation of the holiday theme... and I hope you don't get utterly sick of it! :)
Yippee, it's Friday!!
xxoo

PS, in case you are wondering, the poinsettia is an artificial one that I bought on the cheap. Everything else is real...
