Looking For News

These two show up every day, almost as though they are hoping to hear something about their injured companion.  I think it's more likely they're looking for food since I fed them along with the sick one to gain his trust.  They haven't forgotten, obviously.  

And I do have news.  Another call to the rescue center yielded a status report.  "My" goose has finished his medication and the infection is under control but he's still having trouble with his left leg so they put the splint back on and are keeping him for at least another week.  He's eating well and interacting with the rest of the rescued geese at the center so they hope just a little more attention and recovery will be all it takes to restore him to optimum health.  Fingers crossed.
