Feeding The Ducks

While Mr Flum attended an appointment The Flumlet and I went to feed the ducks on Blackford Pond.
He threw in several handfuls of mixed birdfood but was disappointed that the ducks would not eat out of his hand, nor let him stroke or hold them, but remained resolutely in or close to the water. Even the swans were busy preening on their island and did not come over for a snack. Even the robin kept its distance, though appeared grateful for the extra meal.
But he did enjoy a few minutes in the small play area before Mr Flum arrived to take us home to warm up.
