The gift of a woman

Back in the 1700s, girl power wasn't really a thing. But when Lady Ann Bland decided she wanted to build a church, she used her status as an heiress and Lady to get past all that. I had a late lunchtime saunter and wandered into St Ann's church, (a neat bit of nomenclature to please the reigning monarch and chief sponsor). I liked the wording on the window, a contrast with the male names in the other windows, it just says the gift of a woman. I joined the book club crew to watch Ruby Wax which was both enlightening and very funny. It's the second time we've seen her, and there's always some characters. This time we waited for the lift with a man doing chimp whoops. Takes all sorts.
