I recently learned that keeping spent batteries in a plastic bag until they go to the recycle bin is dangerous. Many fires have been started by spent batteries kept in a cupbord. So, now I'm keeping my spent ones in a glass jar, and I'm putting sticky tape on the end of the rectangular 9 volt ones. 

Spent the day resting and doing some light cleaning. Still some stuff to do, but not that much.
