Exploring light

One of my favourite photographers at the moment is David du Chemin,  who just happened to be in Venice at the same time as us last month, so I viewed his latest newsletter with added personal interest.  One of the things this latest batch of images illustrated was David’s interest in light and his positioning of star-bursts in strategic places in an image, both to mask out certain detail and also to draw our eye to a specific part of the photo.  So on my walk last Thursday, on the first day of sunshine for several days, light had to be my theme.  Unlike in Venice, and in David’s photos, there were no people, but there are plenty of trees to create a sense of place.
