English Narcissism 2019
This usually starts in February at the earliest. Last year (Spring 2018) I didn't even try measuring it as I didn't find any. But they are back in the Penny Markt national supermarket chain. (used to be in the UK, may still be for all I know)
What I find incredible is that in mid-January, when the season is just kicking off and with Easter very late this year, the Narzissen are so heavily discounted.
05 Feb 2016 €0.99c
22 Feb 2016 €0.79c (20% discount)
17 Feb 2017 €0.99c
Dear oh dear ....not only is the £ losing value but seemingly trust in good old traditional English narcissm. What a loss that will be for Europe.

Ever since I felt bad on Thursday night/Friday, I have not really known what was going on - no flu and no real cold but coughing was getting worse. I knew my system was in general at a real low point and that I needed to get the iron infusion done asap after I had cancelled the appointment last Thursday. And last night breathing got critical at times to the point thinking it was my last breath.
So this morning took off to the GP. Like many, our GP is closed on Wednesdays. Germans don't get ill on Wednesdays. I have said this numerous times before but one is not required nor does anyone make an appointment to go to a GP unless, for instance, you want to have something special done, like a special health check or like me an iron infusion that takes about 30 minutes. Got a pain or problem just turn up in opening hours and you will be dealt with. Most GPs operate out of a few rooms in their own house and work alone with two or three trained helpers (but not qualified nurses i.e. they don't take blood or give jabs)
Our GP is in a new suite of officesand has expanded from the original one GP by adding his daughter and another female doctor. I think Dad is taking a back seat more and more as he is of retiring age. Opening hours are:
Monday: 8:00 - 11:00 and 17:00 - 18:30
Tuesday: 8:00 - 11:00
Wednesday: closed but mornings possible after appointment
Thursday: 8:00 - 11:00 and 17:00 - 18:30
Friday: 8:00 - 11:00
For me, that makes 15 hours a week.
I turned up at 9:30 to find only the receptionists, the docs all out on house visits but was told that given I sounded so bad, I should try being back at 10:30 as one was due back quickly before heading off elsewhere.
Hence I popped into the nearby Penny market for the Blip and to kill the hour wait. Back at the surgery was quickly seen by daughter doc who did the stethoscope bit asked a few questions and handed me some prescriptions based on the stuff I had bought along and had been taking the last few days - just the medicines had all run out in 2016 & 2017!
On the way home which is heading due south was again knocked out by the beauty of the Alps on the horizon and as today was EvelyneNC'sbirthday, I would follow up my early morning Facebook message with a photo of the part of the Alps we had met up for in a Blip meeting in Autumn 2017.
Ended up driving past home wanting an even better shot and got so close to Ottobeuren (See extra photo) that I dropped into the chemist took one of the prescription items that was on stock and ordered the other one which will arrive mid-afternoon.
Even if still feeling bad, at least the sun and fresh air did some good. Any real movement is hard work or rather ends in breathlessness. At least Bronchitis is not contagious.
I am never too sure which mountain is which but the ones in the Extra ought to be somewhere between Garmisch Partenkirchen and Oberstdorf For today's Geotag I have placed it on the spot where I took the extra rather than the Erkheim Penny Market supermarket.
(I wonder if Dr Liam Fox MP and Trade Minister is having talks with the "Fairtrade" organisation so as to be prepared for the UK to trade with Europe as equal partners alongside the cocao from Ghana, the coffee from Guatamala, the roses from Kenya.........)
