Pintails and a whale
Leighton Moss - again. determined to photograph the starling murmuration (Blip's spell-checker doesn't like this word). While we were waiting for dusk we visited the Eric Morecambe hide (local lad, keen bird-watcher) and this pair of pintails paddled by. He's a really smart-looking fella. She's a bit drab-looking by comparison, but he loves her in, his ducky way, and that's what counts.
Thanks to a marsh harrier getting in the way we weren't very close to the starlings when they arrived, but close enough for a couple of photos. I think this one looks like a whale.
