Morris Cowley
Please inspect LARGE.
I saw this fine old vehicle parked in Blackheath today. It's a Morris Cowley tourer. Most of these cars featured a handsome bull nose until 1926 and by 1932 the grill was a different shape and chrome plated.
This "flat nose" seems to be much the same as a 1927 model whose picture I found on the internet. After that year, the headlights were larger and higher, it would seem. The only problem is the bonnet cover whose ventilation slots run vertical on all the illustrations I can find. Either this cover is not original or else these horizontal slots are peculiar to this particular model.
In any event its a gorgeous beast. A group of us stood about admiring it for quite a while in the hope that the owner might turn up. Unfortunately it didn't happen. My favourite thing are the picnic basket accessories on the old running board. Wonderful.
