Life and death on the River Lee
Check out BIG.
I was up and out for a meeting this morning in Macroom (always sounds like a biscuit to me). The drive takes a long windy road along part of the Lee River Valley and this old woodland was flooded as part of the river damming project. There were thousands of birds circling and settled, the noise was fantastic, which was good because it had a very eerie feel to it, with all the rotting and decay from the poor drowned tree stumps.
It was, Seb's (our language students) last night, so we went to the pub before and after dinner for a last few pints and to cram in a few more hours practice of conversational English. My attempts to learn any French have been hampered by too much alcohol and too much laughing! It has been a very positive experience and a friend has been made, we hope to keep in touch via the wonderful world of blip.
