Cicada

The wind has continued to blow very heavily again today which is beginning to get to me.  I did manage to force myself out into the garden for a brief spell, during which time it occurred to me that I hadn't heard any cicadas yet this summer.  And then, as though to tell me not to worry, we're on our way, I walked past the tree in the front garden and spotted 2 empty cicada cases.  I'm pretty sure they must be this years as they looked fairly new so I can only imagine that they've crawled up from the ground and are waiting to chirp their first chirps very soon........the sound of summer :D
