A trip to Tobermory
The reason for the visit was to meet with J from the Cats Protection League to collect the grey cat, pusscat number 3. He’s the offspring of our visiting stray grey who has turned up for food during the last year. We thought she was pregnant and estimate he was born in July although not spotted until late September, the housesitters staying here sent us a few short videos. (We were in France).
We trapped him two weeks ago and J delivered him to the vet for the ‘op’, later collected and has since cared for him. During this time she has successfully helped the boy adapt into a domestic situation, we felt the time was right to introduce him to our two beauties. Currently he is hiding in a cupboard which is normal. We would be delighted if he can stay, this is his natural territory although wonder about the reaction when he meets his grey mum, from a brief glimpse they look very similar. We don’t envisage introducing any more permanent cats unless we can trap neuter and domesticate mum, the latter part is unlikely. Our two are aware of another cat and currently asleep by the fire not bothered, the hissing will start once the grey boy is brave enough to move around.
A huge thank you to J who works as a volunteer for the CPL she is one amazing woman.
