Day #2 Auckland embarkation

Today we boarded our "home away from home" for the next 16 days - the beautiful Azamara Quest. And it does feel like coming home - you see the same faces of the crew who have been on board for years and Philip, the Hotel Director still recognises us, despite us not being on board for 12 months. 
Prior to sailing we had a presentation from a local Maori group on board and they asked some of the passengers to join in with the Haka! 

My blip today is the pilot boat heading towards us at the edge of the harbour to pick up the pilot. You can just about see the Auckland skyline in the background, and it was still quite windy as you can see by the waves and white horses. 

We had a lovely meal this evening and met some new friends and giggled at a rather naff magician at the after dinner show. 

All in all, a great first day on board.
