Donna Nook
Around this time every year hundreds of seals retreat to the sands of Donna Nook near North Somercoates in Lincs to have babies and generally lay about for a bit. Myself and my delightful lady both took a day off today to head on down and take lots of snaps.
This is one of just 10 I managed, with Lady Fe managing around the same. Why? Because it effing hammered it down so badly you couldn't believe. The wind chill factor was about -100 and it took us over an hour to just get out of the car. The seals weren't bothered though, plenty of fat to protect them.
In other news we decided to get something to eat afterwards at The Crown Inn at Saltfleet. However we arrived at 2.25 and apparently they stop cooking at 2.30pm.... so they wouldn't serve us. We then found a cafe that advertised an all day breakfast. however after stopping and entering we were told that the all day breakfast was in fact only available until 2.30pm.
Funny definition of all day.
We ended up in Tesco at Market Rasen buying sirloin steak, chips and peas to be cooked (not by me) for dinner.
Alls well that ends well.
