Gaura After Rain
A very trying day. I accidentally locked myself out of my house and I couldn’t find the “planted key.” My town clothes got dirty as I dug up places it might have been. Then I spent more than an hour trying to jemmy open a window, using only garden tools, and worrying a door that sometimes slips its bolt if it is shaken enough.
After a couple of hours I gave up and sat roasting on the veranda listening to an audiobook. The temperature was 31ºC. I was not happy. And I missed an appointment in Christchurch.
Four hours on I gave the door another desperate shake and it suddenly gave way. What a relief to go inside and turn on the fan.
See my son’s awe inspiring blip of the southerly front he captured today.
