A Place I Love - Wide Wednesday

Ooh, snow!  had to get out and play!  I have a (paying) job to take photographs around one of the parishes nearby when snow falls for Christmas cards later this year so the first task was to head in that direction.  After a couple of hours I was reminded of one of your comments about Saturday's image looking like snow so I returned to the dilapidated fence to take some more images.

It really is one of the locations I love and this stand of trees, at the entrance to Cannock Chase Trekking Centre is also amongst my favourites.  it requires an ultra wide lens (16mm) to get everything in as stepping back would reveal an ugly wire fence in the foreground.  I literally have the legs of the tripod up against the wire.

I finally got home about lunch time after being out for almost 5 hours.  It was the first snow of the year in this area and surprisingly it is still around even after the sun came out late morning.
