Exhausted

The quick brown fox did not jump over the lazy dog today.
The quick brown dog jumped over the fence to chase the fox away.
I just had to. The fox was in my garden again. I chased it away but this time I wanted to be sure that it had gone so I jumped over the fence after it. Barking all the way. Then down the side of the neighbour’s house and across the road into another garden.
My owners came out to get me but I didn’t have my listening ears on as I was so focused on getting rid of that fox. Eventually I calmed down and trotted back across the road to my house.
Yes, I know, this was a bit careless as I didn’t stop to look for traffic. My owners were very cross with me and I wasn’t allowed back in the garden after this.
Why don’t they understand that I was protecting them?
