This is the Mexican bass guitar - the "guitarron" - this one was unbelievably badly made in China - I had to close an alarming crack in the back & side where they had tried to bend their crap plywood too enthusiastically.

I have no idea how this ridiculous instrument survives - put it down to machismo?
