Abstract Thursday - Texture

This is a detail from a painting on velvet, so you can see the texture of both the paint and the velvet.

I used to collect harbour bridge memorabilia, when it was still around, and I have two paintings on velvet of night scenes of the bridge under construction.
They were both done in 1930, when there was huge excitement about the bridge, not just in Sydney, but the whole country.
I suspect they were knocked out in volume at the time, but they're no less special to me for that.
