Slate Gate
Our last day in Snowdonia. We went to a nature reserve near Bangor and walked around then back into the more mountainous area for a walk. A lot was snow on top of mud so pretty slippery in places.
It was a slate quarrying area and I love to see it used in so many ways. Here is F going through a gate with great slabs of slate either side to stop it swinging. There are lots of beautiful slate fence posts around too.
The roads were fine for driving so on our way home we deviated via a minor road which was one car wide. It was fine until we got up into the high part which was covered in snow and ice. Fortunately for me F was driving and got us up safely although he described it as an icy helter skelter ride!
The extra is of the beautiful view of the snowy peaks from Llynnau Mymbyr near Capel Curig.
