Charmed!

It was a day to be charmed by a visit to the Amber Fort , it’s circa 15 plus hectares surround by an immense wall designed to keep tigers and other cats and enemy soldiers on rarer occasions. Just to be seen in the background.

It was also time to be charmed by  this young Snake Charmer and his charmed snake.


Visited a variety of other sites including the vast Wind Palace, see extra, rising several floors but only 2 metres deep with many viewing and wind openings all designed to allow ladies of the Maharaja  to view passing traffic but not be viewed......I know! That’s what I thought as well!!

Additional extra shows a typical plaque at the entrance to forts reflecting the martyrdom of women sometimes on the funeral pyres of their men.
